Phil and Rachel met as students at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth whilst attending Alfred Place Baptist Church. They were married on September 14th, 1985, and are currently living in North Wales (where they are members of Gateway Church Wrexham).

The other four members of their home educating family are: Daniel (November 1988), Timothy (June 1990), Andrew(April 1997) and Abigail(March 2000). They also had a precious little girl, Talitha, who lived for just over an hour after being born prematurely in September 1995.
